I tried to make pink cookies for a baby shower i went to. I read online, to add your food dye with your wet ingredients before you add your dry ingredients. Sounded easy. Before I started I knew it would be a fail, because I use butter flavored crisco, which is yellow. Pink and yellow from beta carotene, do not make pink. I thought about using normal crisco, but I didn't want to to sacrifice flavor for pink cookies. As a result they looked like cookies that went to the tanning salon.
I also wasn't too happy with the cookies, they were dry. I added about a half of cup more flour to give them more volume. I figured if I was experimenting, why not try lots of ideas.
