Birthday Crown

I've made a few birthday crowns over the years, although I can't find pictures of all of them at this time.
Here are a few of them: Birthday Boy, Cupcake, Pinkalicious- that I've since picked out and written Princess Natalie, Tulle,  Buttons
 A few months ago a friend's daughter had a birthday.  I made her this for my daughter to give her.  A few years ago we gave the older sister a crown. I wanted this to look different than the last which had tulle. I picked the fabric because I thought it was so pretty.  She likes purple, but also it was a Frozen party, so I figured blue was fitting. Unfortunately I couldn't come up with a way for her name to be that visible through the pattern. :(

My daughter wouldn't pose for me, so I used my 20 month old son.  What a mean mom I am. In my defense my oldest son has a crown, just not a girl crown.

 Look how cute he is, with his brown eyes, his ears folded over and tongue sticking out.

I wanted the crown to be just as pretty as a tulle crown, so I used REAL pearls on it.  I'm not sure if I achieved what I was aiming for.

 Does it channel any Frozen? Its at least the right color scheme.

Trendy Star

Here is one of my new necklaces. I felt like I needed my trendy starfish. It was at all the stores, so I ended up buying it.

I love this necklace. Its thin, blendable, but colorful, its glass, metal, and pearls.

Mother Daughter Braclets

These are my catch up jewelry posts. I wanted to my daughter to have a bracelet for her baby blessing. I begged my husband to make it for me, and he obliged. I designed it though. Four little 2 mm pearls in between 4 mm red coral. To match the holly berries on her dress.

If you look close you can see both of our bracelets.

This makes it easier to see.

Luckily I got my own too.

Presents from Hubby

I told my husband I wanted pink pearls. For my birthday back in september he made these. Its HUGE. The pearls are 12 mm and 6 mm. 12 is quite large! They are very pretty but very light pink. I was hoping for a little brighter, I guess that can wait for another birthday.

For my anniversary I asked for purple howlite turquoise. I don't know this purple is natural turquoise or if they dyed them. Whatever the case I love them. I thought about adding other stones, but I decided against it. I didn't want them tainted with other stones, plus even though opera or rope length is the style now, I'm much more of a choker length girl.

We like to order from pearlwear.com, kind of a goofy site, but we've had good results.

Early Valentine's

Turns out the pearl necklace my husband made me was just practice, for this pearl necklace. The first one was made with not jewelry store quality pearls. Like these. This is my valentines present from my husband, he made it.
Here is the clasp to make up for the necklace I didn't get. Normally I'm not a heart kind of girl, but for some reason I like these. This necklace is actually way better quality than any of the other recently posted on my blog.
I know its a bit more gaudy than most of my readership would wear, but I like gaudy things, I blame it on my texan upbringing. Truth be know, I don't like gaudy things unless they are expensive. My husband bought these wholesale, but they would have been pricey if he would have bought this necklace from a jeweler.

Coolest Husband Ever

All the time that I was waiting for my pearls only necklaces, my husband was working at making me jewelry at work. Apparently coworkers would stop in regularly to see how it was going. He found some temporary strung pearls online and made these:
Its that so sweet?! Thats why he is the coolest husband ever, he MADE me jewelry. This is actually the second time, last year I wanted a size 4 1/2 ring which is unbuyable, unless you buy expensive jewelry, so he made me one with my wire jewelry set. I would include a picture but we have recently misplaced it. Now I have more pearls than I know what to do with, but I just think my husband is so sweet.

Oh by the way...

Remember this, how I really wanted it. Well I told my husband too bad its not for sale anymore, or I would beg you for this. Well being the sweet boy he is, he started researching pearls and good deals online. He now knows more about pearls that me. He asked me to pick a necklace out, from Pearls only. I picked this:
Then we figured out shipping was way overpriced from Pearls Only so to make it not so costly for one item he bought me two. He picked this out:
Although he didn't tell me he was getting the second so it was a surprise, and a nice one. He is so sweet. I got two pearl necklaces for my anniversary. I really like both, the first one is much more my style, but I really love the second because my husband picked it out for me. I got him the Bourne Ultimatum for his anniversary present.
